About Us                 "Cooperation not competition"
The Chrysalis Institute was born in February of 2005 by Kevin Bowman, Trudy Williams, Rachel Oliver, Joseph FitzGerald, Michael R. Gorman and Melinda Abeles. Ms Abeles has moved on to realize her dream and calling and we all wish her the best. We originally started the Stembridge Foundation four month earlier but through a series of misfortunes the Stembridge Foundaton was dissolved and the remaining participants with a strong desire to continue formed the Chrysalis Institute. As the name implies, the Chrysalis is a birthing or renewing of something new and different.

We of the Chrysalis Institute, have seen our systems - educational, economical, social, political and our infrastructure breaking down. We believe that through local-sustainability and a shift of perspective that was can create something positive and sustainable through educational venues such as permaculture, alternative building practices, organic farming, stronger recycling efforts, alternative energy (solar, wind and biofules (on a local level), alternative healing modalities, water reuse/capture, respect for the land and local resources and responsible resource usage.

We invite you to join us in this exciting adventure. Be a part of the change. To join us, click on the Join link on the left of this screen.

Thank you,

Kevin A Bowman, Chairman
