March 22nd at 10:00 am: Mariposa High School Papercrete Project. The Chrysalis Institute along with the Mariposa High School, Motherload Concrete and Yosemite National Park are doing an experimental papercrete running track. All are invited. Sixth Street Cinema are going through a reconstruction of the old Mason building which houses their excellent theatre. They need volunteers to help with the foundation reconstruction and interior finishing. Please call Tony at 209-742-6666 for more info.

March 29 - April 12, 2008. An ongoing Cob Cottage project. Come out and learn how to make and use cob (ordinary dirt, clay and straw) to build a 10 ft x 12 ft storage building or guest cottage. Call Kevin at 209-742-4596 for more info.

April 2008

April 26th - 10 am Earth Day presentation. Come out to the Mariposa Composting Facility, located at the Mariposa Landfill, and watch composting in action. The Chrysalis Institute will be there to demonstrate and answer questions about papercrete and other ways to keep refuse out of the waste-stream. Click here for pictures

May 2008

May 30th - 31: Carter Ranch Music Festival. 2 days of music and art. Come and enjoy the various bands and artist while relaxing in a beautiful wooded environment. Call Adam Finney at 209-742-4596 or email mailbox@thechrysalisinstitute.org for more info.

May 17th at 10:00 am: Papercrete Workshop. Come and join us in finishing the papercrete storage building project. Started in the summer of 2007, we are resuming the workshops and finishing the building. Come and learn how to make your own papercrete and how to build with it.
